May 8 & 9, 2012:  Stepping away from her busy practice, university teaching and family life, Caryn Honig, MEd., RD, LD, spent two days training clients and staff at Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders. Caryn began her trip at our Tempe IOP adolescent program where she used an actual “genie lamp” to facilitate wishes for recovery. Next, Caryn travelled to our Wickenburg in patient facility where she gave a presentation, titled Beyond the Meal Plan: Using Non-traditional/eclectic Approaches During Eating Disorders Treatment and the Recovery Process, to our clinical team about non-traditional approaches to meal planning for recovery. One example of Caryn’s non-traditional techniques included magazine images that stirred discussions related to body image, eating disorders and personal values. Caryn’s final training found her in her element teaching eclectic techniques for recovery in the adult partial hospitalization nutrition group. Please tune into the on demand webinar to learn more about Caryn’s eclectic approach to connecting with the eating disorder client. Big thanks to Caryn from our staff and clients!  To view Caryn Honig’s presentation, click here.
